Most ridiculous update of the week! I can’t go back to work unless a doctor says that I am fit to return, the doctor can’t say that I am fit to return because I’m the only one who can whether I’m fit to return they can only give guidance on my expected recovery! What a faff basically because my manager doesn’t want to do a risk assessment!

That is farking stupid as fark! Get your doctor to put that in writing to take back to your employer, and offer to do the risk assessment yourself. If you’re still blocked after that, say you’ll consider an employment tribunal.
