Act 2: Story Krusty’s first order of business is hiring a crew, which he opts to do locally because it’s a lot easier than going through a formal process. He ends up bringing back everyone in their old roles, making Marge the Assistant to the Director and Homer an assistant. Bart also helps out with effects while Lisa helps out with creative integrity. Filming begins and Krusty is completely phoning it in. He does single takes on everything, and sometimes he doesn’t even bother getting a full take before wrapping for the day. Marge gets worried and calls a meeting with the Polystar executive and explains how poorly things are going. She mentions that the only silver lining is that they’re going to come in under budget since they aren’t using any props or effects. This revelation horrifies the Polystar executive because all of Polystar’s previous films have come in over budget, and they don’t know what to do with a film that’s anything but.
