Thanks to the cack-handed idiots who ripped up the street in front of my house last week, they damaged a big sycamore tree but said nothing. On Sunday a huge branch from said tree snapped off and fell on my car, causing £1500 in damages. Now in a battle to get them to pay for the repairs

Graham-S They had a tipper lorry with a grabber claw bucket on a telescopic arm to collect the excess soil from the hole they dug. They operated it while parked under said tree, smacking the branch.

The guys who mow the lawn here pitched a stone through my neighbors rear car window. When confronted, they said prove it. All I have to say is she’s glad she bought and installed that dash cam and opted for the backup camera to be linked, along with motion sensors.

^^ get a daschcam, a memory card and a 12v adaptor and stick it on the inside of a window where you live and you've got yourself a cheap CCTV system :smile:

Update: After my complaint to the relevant party Monday morning resulted in no response, I phoned again this morning in a somewhat darker, more direct mood, naming the CEO of their company as my next port of call should things not move by end of tomorrow…

Update: Had an email from Western Power trying to pass the buck to their subcontractors. Replied that if I had no joy from their subcontractors, I’d be suing WP as they were ultimately responsible as they employed the subcontractors. *rolls ears*
