This has been a nightmare with the tweaks and the promos and that Welding Yard to keep track of, so I almost forgot abut this ... Act 4: Story Trying to avoid everyone who’s mad at them, the family once again takes to the desert after both Homer and Lisa spot flashing lights off in the night sky and Bart convinces them it’s a Native American casino. Unfortunately, the casino turns out to be a mirage. They spot a second casino on top of a cliff but assume it’s a mirage too. They hike off farther into the desert, while the people at the second casino, who are real, wonder where the Simpsons are going. Desperate for water, the Simpsons find some cacti and cut them open for cactus juice, which makes them loopy and hallucinate actual cactus people. Feeling defeated by the desert, the Simpsons give up and lie down in the dark desert – but then Lisa notices something: a bunch of desert chameleons, and they’re all walking in a line. Lisa convinces the family to follow the chameleons, and the chameleons lead them up to the top of Springfield Mesa where it turns out Flanders is hanging out (he likes to hike up the Mesa to look at the stars and spend time with God). Flanders agrees to take them home…once he's finished his communing with God. Everyone is relieved once they get home, except for Homer. It turns out that Flanders, noticing that Homer had accidentally broken his recliner, decided to give him an exercise ball as a replacement, which Homer sits on and immediately pops.
