Nightbooks on Netflix

^^ click here to watch the trailer

*Scary story fan Alex must tell a spine-tingling tale every night, or stay trapped with his new friend in a wicked witch's magical apartment forever.*

Directed by one of my favourite ever Horror super stars Sam Raimi (Evil Dead).

I watched this last night and I have to say it's going into my top list of original and fun horror movies. A movie for both adults and kids with a new twist on the Hansel and Gretel storyline. An absolute joy to watch. Reminds me of Stranger Things...

Get your popcorn and look it up tonight!

10/10 bloody axes ratings!

Squid Game

"Hundreds of cash-strapped players accept a strange invitation to compete in children's games. Inside, a tempting prize awaits — with deadly high stakes."

A fantastic bloody binge watch! Korean series on Netflix that I thoroughly enjoyed! Crazy sets and crazy kids deadly games. Red light green light had me hooked. Mini Brooders recommend another 10/10 bloody axes ratings from the both of us ☆

Enjoy!

Till Death

^^ watch the trailer here

"Emma is stuck in a stale marriage to Mark and is surprised when he whisks her away to their secluded lakehouse for a romantic evening on their 10th anniversary. But everything changes the next morning when she finds herself handcuffed to Mark's dead body. Trapped and isolated in the dead of winter, Emma learns this is only the beginning of Mark's twisted plan..."

A good movie for a rainy day! Megan Fox is actually acting for a change instead of just looking pretty. Enjoyable twists and murderous home invasion type plot. I'll give it a 3 out of 5 bloody axes rating. On Netflix enjoy ☆☆☆

Velvet Buzzsaw

Link to trailer above ^^

"After paintings by an unknown artist are discovered, a supernatural force enacts revenge on those who have allowed their greed to get in the way of art"

I gave this a second chance. Do not be fooled by the amazing cast in this. The horror doesn't start until at least 1 hour in. What a waste of time. Although this got a shed load of awards it re ally is a croc of shite.

In my horror blog opinion, yeah watch it and no you won't enjoy it or understand it. WASTE OF TIME!

Please do let me know in comments if you disagree. Bloody Axe ratings ZERO.

#5 Spiral review – Chris Rock’s Saw reboot is torturously bad!!!

Watch trailer here: https://youtu.be/rgNlWypWmtw

What NOT to bloody watch.

As a huge SAW franchise fan I actually paid to see this on Sky rental. Please don't waste your money. It was appalling, un inspired and a plot that leaves you empty. The gadgets were disgusting but nothing new. Chris has zero humour as you would expect from him. In fact the only actor of any presence is Samuel L Jackson and even then it seems forced.

Call me disappointed. A bloody axe rating of 1 and that's only because of the 3D blood splatter in the first trap!

#6 Willy's Wonderland

(no it's not porn)

Stars Nicolas Cage ... but he doesn't say much!

Trailer below:

https://youtu.be/0v27rfaoB2Y

'When his car breaks down, a quiet loner agrees to clean an abandoned family fun center in exchange for repairs. He soon finds himself waging war against possessed animatronic mascots while trapped inside Willy's Wonderland.'

A very silly but enjoyable horror flick aka Five nights at Freddys with teddys! On Sky movies from today. Something to watch whilst you carve pumpkins. Bloody Axe ratings 3☆ :scream_cat:

#7 SNATCHERS!

https://youtu.be/ANpAjkPVP50

^^ watch the trailer here

'Status obsessed teen Sarah spends one night with Skyler, and wakes up the next day to find she is nine months pregnant and playing host to an extraterrestrial creature.'

If you need a FUN and GORY monster flick this is the one to see on Sky movies at the moment. Really enjoyed it in a cookey sorta way... Snatchers boldly blends suburban-weirdness, silly sci-fi, goofy gore, and tender teen comedy to create a movie that feels like Clueless meets Gremlins. Bloody Axe ratings ☆☆☆☆

Made me smile!

#9 SLASHER! Series 1-3 on Netflix now...

SLASHER season 1 trailer

^^ watch trailer here ^^

Season 1 info:

Sarah Bennett's parents were murdered by a killer known as "The Executioner" 30 years ago. Now, she returns to the quiet community of Waterbury, where the killings occurred, to start over with her husband Dylan, but upon arriving they discover that things haven't changed much. Sarah quickly finds herself at the center of a series of murders that revolve around the seven deadly sins, which appear to be the work of "The Executioner." But the original killer who went by that name, Tom Winston, is in prison so it can't be him. That means somebody else is behind the mask this time around, and the perp's true identity must be discovered to stop this latest string of murders. As long-buried secrets begin to surface, everybody around Sarah is a suspect -- or a victim.

Bloody Axe ratings ☆☆☆☆☆

Slasher has everything you could want from a series with that name!  Horrifying murder sequences, twists in plot, jump scares and a final girl to root for.

The series really reads as an homage to those 90s slasher films we all know and love!

I binge watched season 1 last weekend and now I'm on season 2 this weekend. Hoping to do the same for season 3 next weekend.

#10 The horrific 7 film bloody Nightmare on Elm Street boxset review!

So... in my youth I had a poster of Freddy Krueger in my bedroom! Why and what the fark for you might ask. Well as you might already know I am a true horror addict. For years I have wanted to add the  nightmare series to my DVD collection and on Amazon right now the 7 films are reduced from neatly £50 to just £15. Hell yeah! A chance to get back those VHS tapes long lost to the big dump of the past. Video nasties are an archive of present stars with the 1st movie featuring the one and only Johnny Depp who suffers an extremely bloody death. Moving on to the present Krueger is a true icon of horror making many an appearance in the Simpsons tree house of horror episodes. One day I hope for him to be in our silly but loveable little tapped out game. But in the meantime it's a RETRO and FUN binge watch for me. ☆☆☆☆☆

  • Escape Room (2019)
  • Escape Room: Tournament of Champions (2021)

You can watch the 1st one on Netflix and the 2nd one on Sky movies!

https://itsastampede.com/2021/01/27/how-many-escape-room-movies-are-there/

"Escape Room: Tournament of Champions is the sequel to the box office hit psychological thriller that terrified audiences around the world. In this installment, six people unwittingly find themselves locked in another series of escape rooms, slowly uncovering what they have in common to survive... and discovering they've all played the game before."

Another fantastic addition to the escape room franchise with a 3rd in the making coming soon... (YAAAS)

If you are a fan of unpleasant game nights then this is for you. Can you work out the clues faster than the contestants? Yeah I think so! It's an adrenaline rush in both movies to get out of the amazing locked and deadly set rooms before you die. But what's the connection between the players and how does that help? Where does that door handle go? Why is that sequence of numbers so important? Who dies first and who survived? Who cares!

I hope you enjoy these movies as much as me! ☆☆☆☆☆

Don't Breathe (2016)

Trailer

Hoping to walk away with a massive fortune, a trio of thieves break into the house of a blind man who isn't as helpless as he seems.

I thought this movie was fantastic and not as expected with plenty twists in the plot and a deeply disturbed scene with a turkey baster!

Bloody Axe ratings ☆☆☆☆☆ a must see horror movie.

Now the 2nd movie is on Sky which I will be watching later. Hopefully it's as good as the first one!

Don't Breathe 2 (2021)

Trailer 2

The sequel is set in the years following the initial deadly home invasion, where Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang) lives in quiet solace until his past sins catch up to him.

A beautifully filmed twisted unusual tale of a *Hannibal*istic date night. Extremely enjoyable just don't watch it during dinner!!!

American horror stories on Disney +

(Not to be confused with the other on Netflix American Horror Story)

Trailer here:

Rubber woman part 1 and 2

..."American Horror Stories" is a spin-off of Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk's award-winning anthology series "American Horror Story." The weekly anthology series features a different horror story in each episode.

This is what makes this series a great watch if you want a quick horror stories fix! I was surprised by the difference in genres and ultimately the great twists in each story.

Found this whilst waiting in court then realised oh holy crap I'm on free governments Wi-Fi oops! Now watching whilst I wait on data only.

Don't believe the bad reviews each story is an enjoyable horror short guaranteed to hit that 'OHMYGOSH' I have to get a nasty fix in moment. Or is that just me?!

Enjoy ☆☆☆

INCANTATION

View trailer here

If you love Asian horror like me this is possibly the best one so far! Out on Netflix recently. A mix of real footage and documented style film. It's a very scary start where I for one wouldn't repeat the incantation at ALL!

I was hooked from start to finish!

I don't want to spoil this one at all. Just know it's absolutely brilliant and based on a true life story of a woman who truly believes her family are cursed.

Nightmare rating a definite 5 star bloody axes. ☆☆☆☆☆

October 2022

Two totally watchable series on Netflix!

First up is Dahmer... The story of one of the most notorious serial killers in the United States, largely told from the points of view of his victims.

If you *love* serial killers like me in a twisted but wanting to know the full story of horror that they achieved? An extremely "normal" but sick cannibalism tale that follows his life and how he wasn't caught for years!!! A must see dramatically told story. One of his victims even escaped just to be escorted back to his house later on. Shocking but true!

Secondary to this is The Watcher. Again a true story of an American family who moves into their dream home, only to be plagued by ominous letters, strange neighbors and sinister threats. Wonderfully twisted. You know in real life they never found who it was but this drama keeps you guessing. I'm naming *stifflers mum American pie* as main suspect!!!

Honestly both series are a true crime Halloween fest not to be missed. ☆☆☆☆☆

#18 M3gan

M3GAN is a marvel of artificial intelligence, a lifelike doll that's programmed to be a child's greatest companion and a parent's greatest ally. Designed by Gemma, a brilliant roboticist, M3GAN can listen, watch and learn as it plays the role of friend and teacher, playmate and protector. When Gemma becomes the unexpected caretaker of her 8-year-old niece, she decides to give the girl an M3GAN prototype, a decision that leads to unimaginable consequences.
